We’ve been working hard to make Host Building better! Here’s the new and improved features, integration updates and resolved bugs you’ll find in this release.
What’s new
Deeplink directly to a menu tile
Deeplinks can now be created to link directly to menu tiles. This can be useful when there are multiple menu tiles of the same feature type, and the admin wishes to link a specific menu tile from a piece of content within the app. To find out more and to get this set up, reach out to your client services lead.
Admin Portal password criteria
When an app user resets their password, they will now have to meet a password criteria to successfully reset their password. New passwords must have at least 8 characters, 1 lowercase, 1 uppercase, 1 number, 1 special character and must not contain your username. Existing passwords do not have to meet this criteria and users will not have to update their password unless they choose to reset it.
What’s improved
Spaces no payment required
When a display only space has no price set and no payment is required, the ‘No payment required’ wording that would usually appear is now hidden.
Enforce minimum app version at building level
Previously, minimum app versions could be enforced for app users at a client level only, now it can be enforced at a building level. The application can request all users registered to that building to update, but unaffected users in other buildings can continue to update the application has they have configured.
Update erase data & reset wording under my profile
The wording used during the process to remove an app user’s account from the application has changed. When a user navigates to the ‘Erase and reset’ function in the My Profile section, they will see a prompt informing them that this will remove their account, with no way to revert the change.
If they choose to confirm this action, they will observe a second prompt to confirm, stating: “Are you sure you want to permanently delete your account? All data associated with your account will be erased & the app will be reset to its initial fresh install state.” Users can choose to proceed or cancel the action.
Hide Pulse TSR upload image functionality (Android only)
For buildings that use Pulse Response tenant service requests (TSR) , the functionality to upload an image has been hidden on Android devices. iOS will be updated with release 1.69.
Admin Portal account lockout now recorded
Clearing browser cookies will no longer by-pass temporary account lockout due to repeated incorrect password attempts as it is now recorded on the backend.
Android 13 per app languages
From Android 13, app users can now set a language for each individual application. Allowing the app user to choose a language they wish each app to default to but override specific apps to another language. Users can navigate to their System Settings, locate the application and modify the ‘App Language’. This brings Android in line with iOS language settings.
Android 13 new photo picker
The new photo picker provides a browsable, searchable interface that presents the user with their media library, sorted by date from newest to oldest. This tool provides a safe, built-in way for users to select images and videos, without needing to grant the app access to the user’s entire media library.

Resolved bugs
App
- An app user cancelling their booking to an event doesn’t open the spot back up for someone else to book, resulting in the event still showing as sold out.
- Largest dynamic font size causes news tile text to be cropped on the home screen news feature carousel. [iOS only]
- Missing translation string error message displayed in app.
- The ‘cancellation not allowed’ text is cut off on the My Bookings screen when a space booking is in progress.
Admin portal
- News articles targeted to a deleted user group causes session logout when editing to remove deleted user group.
- Typo on export space booking screen, it says ‘cost per internal’ rather than ‘cost per interval’.
- When changing password for an account logged into via Accounts > Action > Edit the screen stays in the loading state indefinitely.
- Event report crashing for events that had app user bookings.
- Spaces linked accounts are not receiving user booking emails.
- Change account option showing for users with a single SSO linked account.
- Input error received when instance admins try to run a client data export report or instance stats report.
