Cancelling an event
An event should be cancelled, rather than deleted, if there are sessions published in the app. By cancelling the individual session, records of the cancellation are available in the event reports, whereas if deleted, the event will no longer appear in admin reports.
Cancelling a session will trigger the system to refund app users who are registered for any upcoming session/s of the event. App users who have RSVP’d will receive an email notification of the cancellation.
Cancelled events remain visible in the admin portal where you can download reports on the history of the event.
Steps to cancel all event sessions
- From the left-hand side menu, select Events & Functions > All Events.
- On the All Events screen, find the event you want to cancel and on the far right of the space click Actions > Cancel Event.
- The cancel event window will show with the details of the event. Complete the two questions about refunding registered app users and click Cancel Event. A push notification will go out to app users registered to attend advising them that the event has been cancelled.
Steps to cancel an event session
- From the left-hand side menu, select Events & Functions > All Events.
- On the All Events screen, find the event you want to cancel and on the far right of the space click Actions > Upcoming Sessions.
- The event sessions will show. Navigate to the session you want to cancel and click Actions > Cancel This Session.
- The cancel event session window will show with the details of the session. Complete the two questions about refunding registered app users and click Cancel Session. A push notification will go out to app users registered to attend the event advising them that the event has been cancelled.
