How to create a promo code

Promo codes are a way to give app users a discount on a vendor order. Promo codes are created by building admins and can be a percentage or a dollar value discount and can only be applied to orders placed with the vendor it is created for. Once a promo code has been used by an app user, it can no longer be edited in the admin portal.

The app user applies the promo code when reviewing their cart and can only use one promo code per order. The promo code field can be configured to be pre-filled with a promo code, reach out to your client services lead to set up this configuration.

Note, prior to distributing promo codes to app users, ensure that vendors are set up with all products intended for sale and configured to accept the use of promo codes at check out.

Steps

1. From the left-hand side menu, select Promo Code.
2. On the Promo Code screen in the top right corner, select Actions > New Promotion.
   
3. Complete the mandatory fields (denoted with a *) and any other fields within the promo code creation form with the information you would like to display. See the field description list for more information on the fields.
   
4. Click Save.
   • If you chose to have the promo code apply to all of the vendor’s products, the promo code will now be valid for use between the dates selected.
   • If you chose to have the promo code apply to select products, follow steps 5-7 to complete creating a promo code.
5. On the Promo Code screen, navigate to the promo code you want to assign products to and click Actions > Assign Products.
   
   
6. A list of products for the vendor will show. Using the tick box, select the product category or products you would like the promo code to be applicable to.
   
7. Click Save. The promo code will now be valid for use between the dates selected on the chosen products.

Tip

Once your promo code is saved, the Active toggle can be used to quickly activate or deactivate the promo code in the app.
