How to add a homepage banner

Homepage banner

The homepage banner is a way to highlight an in-app piece of content or an external website to the app user for a period of time. Multiple banners can be added and they will appear as a carousel on the homepage of the app.

When no homepage banner is added, the amenity hero image will show, see how to add an amenity image (article coming soon). If no amenity hero image is set, a stock image will show.

Steps

1. From the left-hand side menu in building admin, select Homepage Screen.
2. On the Homepage Screen in the top right corner, select Actions > New Homepage Feature.
   
3. On the New Homepage Feature modal complete the following fields:
   • Title: Title you want to appear on the banner  
   • Text: The subtitle you want to appear on the banner.
   • Deeplink to app: Select Yes if you would like to link to somewhere in the app when the banner is clicked. Select No if you would like to link to a website.
   • Link to: Depending on what you selected above, either select where you would like to deeplink to in the app, or paste in the web address and tick “Open in an internal browser” if you would like the website to update in the app (otherwise it will open in the system browser).
   • Display: To always display the banner, tick Active only. If the banner should only display between certain dates, choose a display from and to date. 
      
4. Click Save. 
5. If the banner should only be seen by a particular group, see how to apply group targeting. 
6. The banner will not app ear in the app until and image or video is uploaded, see how to add an image or video to a homepage banner carousel. 

Tip

On the Homepage Screen, the Active toggle can be used to quickly show or hide the banner from the app homepage.
