We’ve been working to improve the user interface and user experience of the Homepage. Particularly, these changes improve the legibility of each content piece, as the text previously overlayed the image restricting the images that could be used. See below for an in depth look at the most notable changes.
The footer menu improvements were released in V1.75 in June 2023 and all other improvements will be released in V1.77 in July 2023.
These improvements won’t impact the current content appearing on the homepage nor will it change the logic that determines what is shown, and there is no action required by clients for this update to take place.
Please communicate the following changes with your team. If you have any questions, please visit the Homepage How to Guides or reach out to hostbuilding@cbre.com.
Header
A drop shadow has been added to the header which will always show when the header is visible unless there is a Poll.
On the left-hand side the In-App header logo will now show. If no logo is set, the In-App icon will show, if there is no In-App icon, the building name will display.
On the right-hand side the app users' profile icon will now show, displaying either their profile image or initials. When clicked, it will link to My Profile.
The colour of the header will not change and will remain the colour the client has it set to.
These updates will only apply to the homepage view. The header behaviour throughout the app will not change.

Polls
The design of polls has been refined and an entry and exit animation has been introduced when the poll appears and is closed.
If a poll is created, it will appear directly under the header and above the banner carousel. The poll will remain locked at the top of the screen, even if the app user scrolls down the homepage. The poll will remain on the app users screen until they acknowledge it by either closing it or launching the poll.
Banner Carousel
The title, subheading and indicator dots now appear below the image or video, rather than over the image or video. The video play button now appears in the bottom left corner as a solid white button with a gradient along the base of the video.
The spacing below the image or video which is reserved for the heading and subheading will autofit to the largest heading and subheading in the carousel. Alternatively, if no headings or subheadings are set for all banner content, there will be no gap between the image or video and the indicator dots.
The heading can be a maximum of 3 lines, and the subheading a maximum of 2 lines, after which it will truncate.
If no banner carousel image or video is set, it will display the building hero image. The fallback stock image that shows has been updated and the fallback heading will be the building name.

Quicklinks
The design and layout of quicklinks has been updated to a button-like look and now shows in a 2 x 2 layout rather than four across (the 3rd and 4th buttons have now moved to the second line).
The quicklink icon designs are taken from the app menu, however the colour of these icons remain independent of their colour in the app menu. The quicklink title colour is hard coded and cannot be changed and if the title is too long, it will truncate.
The display logic of the quicklinks remains as it was, if a user does not have permission, they will not see the quicklinks and either there are 4 quicklinks or no quicklinks.
Feature Carousels
News
The news feature carousel was updated in V1.66 released in August 2022, no further updates or changes have been made.
Events
The events feature carousel has been updated to have smaller images, enabling a snippet of the next event card to show in the carousel. Depending on if there is one or many cards in the carousel, the event title and next session date will be displayed either beside or underneath the image. If the title is too long an ellipsis will be shown at the end of the two-line limit and the full title will show once the event is clicked into. The event badge, with default or custom text, now pulls through to the event carousel and appears in the top left-hand corner of the event image. The colour of the event badge will be the same as the big button colour.

Offers & Services
The offers and services feature carousels have been updated to have smaller images, enabling a snippet of the next offer or service card to show in the carousel. Depending on if there is one or many cards in the carousel, the offer or service title will be displayed either beside or underneath the image. Offers also have the addition of the expiry date of the offer displaying under the title if one is set. If the title is too long ellipsis will be shown at the end of the max character limit and the full title will show once the offer or service is clicked into.

Footer bar
From release V1.75 for Android and V1.76 for iOS, the corners of the footer will now be rounded at both top corners and the selected page will be highlighted with the use of bold. The existing client background color, icon color & text/indicator color will remain as part of the new design. For a more balanced look when the footer menu has less that four icons, the icons will shift to be evenly distributed. By default, the footer will have four tabs. The footer will continue to support four or two tabs for general app users and three tabs for concierge app users, see how to edit building information for more information. These updates to the footer will be reflected throughout the app, not just on the homepage.
