We’ve been working hard to make Host Building better! Here’s the new and improved features, integration updates and resolved bugs you’ll find in this release.
What’s new
Minimum Operating System
On Apple we have increased our minimum supported version to iOS 14. On Google have increased the minimum support operating system to Android 9.
New forced update screen
We have updated the automatic update screen shown to app users. App users will be shown a screen prompting them to update their app if the admin has set the minimum app version to be higher than the version that is currently installed on the user's device.
Shown below is an image showing the default header and text for the forced update screen, both of which Admins can customise at a client level. By default, the icon shown will be the current app icon; however, this can also be customised at a client level. A different URL can be configured for iOS and Android to ensure all app users are taken to the correct app store then they tap “update now”.
New data extracts in preparation for migration to VTS
We’ve created new data extracts that will allow clients to better leverage their historic Host data as they transition to VTS. These extracts will be provided to clients by the digital team at the time of transition to VTS and will contain information from each section in the admin portal. The new extracts created this release were:
- Offers
- Events
- Stripe Subscription
What’s improved
Homepage
Quick-link labels will now run over 2 lines of text, allowing for more text characters to be displayed on the button.
On Android, when a video is set to display in the banner carousel, it will now include the text prompt “Play Video” next to the play button. On Android devices, font weights have been updated to bring the UI to match what is existing on iOS.
Success state screens
When an app user submits a Service request, we have updated the success state screen, for both iOS & Android to ensure a consistent look and feel across platforms.
Empty state screens
When no content is available for a feature, we have updated the messaging shown to an app user to create a consistent look and feel across features. The empty state screens have been updated for the following features:
- Events
- Offers
- Spaces
- News
Policy UX Fixes
As part of this fix, event policy screens will display translated page headings for both iOS & Android.
In the admin portal, the Client-based ‘Edit Policy’ modal has been updated so that the section headers within the modal now have more detailed, descriptive text.
Client data API report
The Tenant API data export has been updated to ensure the data fields ‘display name’, ‘floor’ and ‘display directory’ (yes/no) are added to the report.
Office RnD integration
When an app user taps on the OfficeRnD tile, by default, it will show which rooms/spaces are available for the next 24 hours. This default time frame of 24 hours can be adjusted by, by Super & Instance Admins, as part of the integration configuration.
Offers
- On iOS, the “Redeem” button for the ‘Offers’ detail view has been updated to match the big button properties outlined in the stylesheet.
- On iOS, the heading on the default page for offers has been updated to “Offers” rather than “Redeem your offer”.
- Offers that have a limited number of redemptions per app user, this limit can no longer be circumvented by app users deleting and recreating their account with the same email address
Analytic Events
A new analytics event has been created to record when menu tiles are tapped.
Amenities images
On the iOS app, the overlay for Amenities showcased under ‘My Building', has been changed from brown to black.
