We’ve been working hard to make Host Building better! Here’s the new and improved features, integration updates and resolved bugs you’ll find in this release.
What’s new
Forced update improvements
We have updated the automatic update screen shown to app users to allow customisation at the building level. App users will be shown a screen prompting them to update their app if the admin has set the minimum app version to be higher than the version that is currently installed on the user's device.
Shown below is an image showing the default header, description text, and button prompt for the forced update screen, all of which Admins can now customise at a client or building level. If both building and client level configuration have been set, then app users will be shown messaging set for the building which they are registered to.
To customise this screen at either the building or client please contact the support team via hostbuilding@cbre.com OR via the Help Centre located at the bottom of your navigation bar in the Admin portal.
New data extract in preparation for migration to VTS
We’ve created new data extracts that will allow clients to better leverage their historic Host data as they transition to VTS. These extracts will be provided to clients by the Digital Team at the time of transition to VTS and will contain information from each section in the admin portal. The new extracts created this release were related to the following features:
- Services
- Service Requests
- News
- Stripe Subscriptions
What's improved
Empty States
When no content is available for a feature, we have updated the messaging shown to an app user to create a consistent look and feel across features. This work is a continuation of the empty state feature screens which were released in v.179.
The empty state screens have been updated for the following features:
- Noticeboard
- Food & Beverage
- Food & Beverage – My Orders
- Services
- Services – My Requests
- Spaces – My Bookings
- Events – My Bookings
Success Screen
When an app user submits an Offer or subscription Service, we have updated the success state screen, for both iOS & Android to ensure a consistent look and feel across the platform.
Stock Images
We have updated the stock image for a range of features across the app. When no image is set against an individual piece of content, the stock image that is displayed is now unique to each feature. This stock image can be visible on the homepage, list view screen and details screen for that specific piece of content. The stock image is replaced once an Admin user uploads an image of their choosing. The following features have had their respective stock image updated:
- News
- Spaces
- Services
- Offers
- Homepage banner
Admin portal updates
- The Client data report ‘Analytic Events 2’ now contains quicklink action and quicklink position as additional information in the data column.
- We have added new upload messaging for client logos that will reinforce the maximum file size that can be uploaded as well highlighting which file format (PNG & JPG) will support the Client Logo upload.
-
Thumbnail images that are shown within the Admin Portal list view have also been updated to ensure all are displayed in a consistent width. This update applies to the following feature thumbnails:
- Spaces
- Events
- Homepage features
- Offers
- Services
Resolved Bugs
App
- On iOS, when an app user now visits the HID settings screen, the tab bar will be hidden to ensure that the settings screen is not partially blocked by the tab bar.
- For Android app users, when viewing a news or events list view that has no content assigned, the app user will now be shown the correct empty state screen for the feature.
- For Android users, on the Services ‘list view screen’ the last concierge service item is no longer being cut off by the bottom navigation bar.
- For Android, a crash associated with HID SDK upgrade has been resolved.
- The Hungerbox location was not being added to vendor redirects, causing location issues.
- Stopped app users receiving duplicate CSAT requests when Pulse Response requests are marked as done.
