We’ve been working to make Host Building better! Here’s the new and improved features, integration updates and resolved bugs you’ll find in this release.
Spaces
NEW FEATURE: Space discounts
With the Building Admin portal, “Discounts” has appeared in the portal under the spaces section of the Navigation bar. The key features are:
- Discounts are created and then applied to a Space.
- Discounts have start/end dates and can be toggled on/off.
- Discounts can be dollar ($) or percentage (%) based.
- Percentage discounts can be capped to a maximum discount value.
- Total and per user redemption limits can be set for each discount.
- Restrictions around who can use a discount (e.g. User or Tenant group) are applied per discount using Group Targeting.
- One discount can be applied across multiple spaces.
- One space can have multiple discounts applied.
- If a user is associated with multiple discounts, the largest discount will automatically be applied.
- Discounts only apply to the space booking rate and does not carry through to any custom fields for that space.
- Admins can see which discounts are associated with each space (‘Spaces’ page) AND what spaces are associated with each discount (‘Discounts’ page).
- Once a discount is applied by a user, that discount cannot be edited to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Within the app, discounts are communicated to app users on all screens of the Spaces booking flow; list view, content card view and booking confirmation screens.
- Within the app, on the booking summary screen app users are shown how many uses they personally have remaining to them for the discount that is being applied.
- Discounts are reflected in booking reports.
- Reports can be exports against each individual discount
NEW FEATURE: Booking summary screen
When an app user process a spaces booking, they are now shown a screen summarising all options they have chosen, prior to finalising the spaces booking. If a discount has been automatically applied, included on this page is a message informing the app user of how many redemptions of that discount are still available.
IMPROVED FEATURE: My Bookings screen
With the App the Spaces > My Booking page has had a design update. Key booking formation is clearly communicated about each booking within the list view. To see additional information, such as capture field input, tap "view details".

IMPROVED FEATURE: Space capacity
In app the space capacity is now labelled "Capacity up-to" where previously it was "Seats".
Services
If an app users Service request went through the approval/ rejection process any comment made against that process will be visible to Admin when viewing the request history from the service desk. If comment was made the line item within the history will read Approved/ Rejected - no comment.
Events
In the admin portal, Event Images has been updated to only allow one image to be uploaded. This is aligns the admin portal with the app user experience as only one image is shown in app against each event.
Food & Beverage
- If a vendor does not have SMS enabled, communication to app users will default to push notifications.
- Vendors can now choose if user’s phone numbers should be displayed on printed order dockets. This configuration is found under Order Settings > Include on Dockets.
- At a vendor level you can now choose to disable the Promo Code box which is shown to app users on the My Cart checkout screen. This option is configured in either the Building or Client admin: [My Building] Building > [Vendors] View Vendors > [Actions] Edit > (scroll to the bottom) Disable the promo code field.
Offers
Client admin can now change the order which Offers display in app. This is achieved by dragging and dropping the content into the desired order.
Contentful integration
Once enabled at a client level, building admin will see the Contentful integration in the screen News & Comms > Building Owned. When navigating to ‘Actions’, as well as "New Content Piece" a new "Browse Templates" option appears.
Templates are sorted into category topic. Click the down arrow next to a topic to see the related templates.
Next to each template is the action "Use this template". Upon clicking this action, the admin is taken to the familiar content creation screen, now prepopulated with the templated content. For each template a recommended image will prepopulated in the add/update media section.

Proxy integration
When an app user is on the Proxy Trouble Registering screen, there is now have an additional input field on that screen which will give the User the option of an adding an existing Proxy ID number.
Resolved bugs
- In app each Service custom field that has a price will now show the currency symbol of that price based the currency of the building where the service is from.
- On Android, Walkthrough images were being resized to fill the screen, instead of centre cropping.
- Event Registrants report was incorrectly downloading in a .txt file format instead of a .csv format.
- As a client admin, while editing an offer, if you had previously selected a user group for the field "Automatically Add To User Group" and clicked save, admin can change the user group, however, "None" was unable to be saved as a valid user group in this field.
- If text was copied from Word into the News editor, formatting was being lost.
- On iOS, when app users submitted feedback using the Feedback menu title, the email summary of this feedback was showing random characters, such as ‘%’, as opposed to spaces between words.
