We’ve been working to make Host Building better! Here’s the new and improved features, integration updates and resolved bugs you’ll find in this release.

What’s new

Space payment rates

Spaces can now have multiple payment rates! When multiple rates are available, the space card will show ‘View Rates’ in place of the flat rate. When clicked, the rates per hour for the space will show.

If app user is eligible for a discount to a space, the user is now notified from the spaces list and throughout the booking process. The discount amount is shown and applied at checkout.   

What’s Improved

UX and UI Improvements

• Empty state screens added to various features
  Previously a blank screen would show when there was nothing available in a section of a feature, now, an empty state screen includes an icon, message, and in some cases, a call to action button for improved usability.
   
• Event info icons updated
  The icons highlighted below within the event info screen have been updated.
  
• Refinement of the back button in iOS
  For a consistent experience and improved design throughout the app, only the chevron icon will be used to signify ‘back’ and any associated text beside the chevron has been removed.

• My Profile accordion text color customization and increased height of form fields
  The text color on the accordion headings can now be changed to colors other than white. White will be the default color and where it is already used, it will remain white.
  
  For improved usability, the height of the form fields has been increased to align with other areas of the app for iOS only.
  
• UX and UI improvements
  Feedback screen title and content has been taken out of the content box that sat over the hero image.

• Android 12
  App updated to support Android 12.
• Pull to refresh
  Pull to refresh has been implemented on all features of the app.
• Show error messages on Android in Snackbars rather than Toast
  Historically all error messages have been shown via Toast. The move to Snackbars improves the experience and usability.

Events

• The event registration button text can now be customized. If no text is set, it will default to ‘Book Now’.
  

Spaces

• Hide policy if a space is non-bookable/read only [Android only]
  If a space is non-bookable/read only, the policy and tick box still appears. For improved usability, this functionality has been hidden for non-bookable/read only spaces.

Admin Portal

• Translate building name to other languages
  Building names can now be entered in another pre-set language. The language has to be enabled at a building level for the app user to see the translated feedback category.
  
• Translate feedback categories
  When an instance admin edit or creates a feedback category, they now have the ability to enter the category name in another pre-set language. The language has to be enabled at a building level for the app user to see the translated feedback category.
  
• Third status added to accounts for Stripe
  A third status has been added to accounts to enable admin’s to easily distinguish between accounts that are e-commerced enabled from accounts that are onboarded.

• Update OpenPath to support Android 12.
• Update Gallagher to 15.5 to support Android 12.

Resolved bugs

App

• HID registration screen persisting on Android even after user has registered to HID using invitation code.
• App crashing during launch on Android if app user leaves app mid-launch.
• App crashing on Spaces booking form on Android after opening calendar and immediately tapping back twice in quick succession.
• Homepage banner scrolling and repeating the same image rather than being static when there is only one image to be displayed.
• iOS devices not able to load Union Pay credit cards into the app.
• Stripe maximum transaction limit error message showing the maximum amount in cents.
• Vendor (F&B) menu section headers in vendors are double in height on iOS.
• Spaces list view screen cutting off last space card.
• iOS users unable to filter news when there are multiple news categories.
• Background colors not populating on first load of registration screen.

Admin portal

• Shared news content unable to be disapproved for display and returns an ‘unauthorized request’ error.
• Unable to create a multiple response poll.
