We’ve been working hard to make Host Building better! Here’s the new and improved features, integration updates and resolved bugs you’ll find in this release.
What’s new
- Camera to work on webviews [Android only, functionality already exists for iOS]
If a webpage accessed through the app requires access to the users camera, the user will be prompted once at the start of the session to give permission for the webpage to use their camera.
- First phase of Braxos integration complete
The first phase of our integration with Braxos has been completed. It will allow app users to call for a lift from within the Host Building app. If you’re interested in this new integration, reach out to your Host Building team.
What’s improved
App Registration
Building list can be ordered in alphabetical order or by geographical location
At app registration, if there is more than one building within the app, the buildings can be ordered alphabetically or by geographical location to the app user. The building list order is chosen when the app is built.
Spaces
- Improved spaces pending approval message
The current space booking pending approval message mentions the word ‘payment’ which is not always accurate as some spaces can be free. The messaging has been updated to allow for both paid and free space bookings.

Spaces can now display external links as buttons below the space description.
Admin Portal App - Improved UI for space creation/edit form
The UI for the space creation/edit form has been reordered and grouped under headings for easier use and separation of information. - Spaces supporting Strong Customer Authentication (SCA)
Spaces now supports the display of a bank’s 3D-secure we page to enable payment for the space.
Vendor
Better POS/Vendor online checks
If a vendor has multiple sessions open (for example, they have 2 iPads), logging out of one session/iPad will not log you out of the other session/iPad running, which was resulting in the vendor displaying as closed on the app.
My Building
Building directory now shows company blurb
Previously a company blurb could be added to a tenant in the admin portal, but it did not show in the app. The company blurb now shows in the app.

Admin Portal
- Loading state added for login screen
Loading states have been added for a better UI experience. - Events & functions improved download report labelling
To better reflect the action, the ‘Report’ button under actions has been updated to ‘Download Report’ and the icon has been updated to a download icon.
Before After - Improved Pagination
The new pagination allows users to navigate multiple pages of information easier by selecting the page they want or selecting previous or next to navigate through. When there are many pages, the pagination now fits to the page, instead of going off screen as it previously functioned. - Removed wording repetition in Display Dates for Homepage Manual mode [client admin]
When homepage carousels are set to managed manually at a client admin level, repeated word ‘displaying’ has been removed from the display dates field. - Session time-out
Sessions will now time-out 60 minutes after the last activity in the admin portal to improve security. - Improve Service field descriptions
Descriptive subtext has been added to the service summary and service description fields to clarify where the content will appear in the app. - Admin Portal URL structure updated
link.php was updated to use path based routing resulting in cleaner URLs. - Service email template can include customer reference ID
The instance admin can now include the customer’s reference ID in the service email template. Please reach out to Host Building if you would like this set up for your account.
- Remove placeholder text from Service summary field
The placeholder text ‘Gain direct access to Concierge. You will be sent a notification when your request is being attended to.’ from the service summary field. This remains a mandatory field. This change will be applicable to all new services created.

Resolved bugs
App
- Spaces pay later invoices displaying the incorrect payment date.
- Spaces description showing HTML tags.
- Spaces calendar missing the first day of each month for US buildings.
- Spaces calendar allowing user to select booking times that have passed.
- Spaces calendar spelling out days of the week in full, rather than shorthand, in languages other than English.
- News images not showing multiple images chevron when there is more than one image.
- Notices with external links are not displaying the external links.
- Noticeboard crashing on older versions of iOS, such as 1.60 and 1.62.
- Events sold out message appearing as ‘SOLD EVENTS_SESSION_TIMEOUT’
- Service request showing a blank or incorrect error message when being submitted.
- Firebase tokens not being sent via a push notification until the app is restarted.
- PULSE TSRs being submitted via Host are being submitted by users who are not tenant reps.
- Invalid link error being received when attempting to validate Host Building account.
- When in a webview within the app, if the user leaves the app and returns, the page reloads and users has to restart the login process.
Admin portal
- Active user graph not responding when data range is set to show active users per month.
- Service request pending approval email is not populating with tenant name when there is no display name set.
- Spaces booking report shows bookings made within the report time period rather than the bookings occurring within the report time period.
- Vendor orders screen showing encryption string instead of ‘Deleted User’ for deleted users’ orders.
- Service and Event email requests going to admins only half translating when building is set to a language other than English.
- Event report returning an error when a report is run on an event with many sessions and bookings.
- Help center email responses not being received by sender.
